The exhibition presents a hundred and sixty rare coins from the Foundation’s collection, the fourth largest coin collection from Asia Minor in the world. During the event addresses were delivered by the German Ambassador, Mr. Roland Wegener, the exhibition's curator Ms Eleni Papaefthimiou and FHW's Managing Director Mr. Dimitris Efraimoglou. The exhibition will last until the 28th of February 2011 and is under the auspices of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Athens.

Geographically the exhibition covers the largest part of the ancient Hellenic world, from Thrace to Mesopotamia, while it covers the time span between the 6th century BC and the 3rd century AD. Unique representations and inscriptions on the coins bring to light unknown information about every aspect of life during that period of time.

With this exhibition the Foundation makes its Numismatic Collection, which amounts to more than 13,000 coins, available to the public. These coins represent the largest part of the ancient Hellenic world, from present-day France to Egypt, with emphasis to the areas of the Black Sea and Asia Minor.
