Presentation of the book Winter of the Orient

On 29 November 2010, at 19:30, the book of Ms Elpida Oikonomopoulou "Winter of the Orient" (published by Livanis Publishing Organization) was presented at Iphigenia II hall at "THEATRON". It is a historical novel that takes place in Asia Minor, from 1904 in Sparta of Pisidia until the Asia Minor Catastrophe. Through the life of the hero, Thanasis Papazoglou, we observe the customs of the Greeks and the Turkish pressure on the Christian population, while it touches upon the reasons of the Asia Minor Catastrophe.
The following spoke about the book: the President of the Association of Sparta in Asia Minor, Mr. Charis Sapountzakis, the Professor, Faculty of Nursing in the University of Athens, Ms Chrysoula Lemonidou, and the Çead of FHW’s Genealogy and Oral History Department, Mr. Michalis Varlas.
